Yeshivat Hadar invites New York City-based students to apply for the Matmidim Fellowship for the Spring 2012 semester.
Time Commitment: 5 hours/week: Mondays, 7:30-9:00 PM + Mondays or Tuesdays, 2:30-6:00 PM
Dates: January 23rd-March 31st, 2012
Matmidim Fellows will learn in the Yeshivat Hadar beit midrash at the following times:
Participate in Yeshivat Hadar’s 90@190 community beit midrash. Join one of our many classes or learn on your own with a havruta. In addition to attending, Matmidim fellows are expected to bring at least 3 friends to this program over the course of the semester. We welcome Matmidim Fellows to lead haburot as well; please let us know if you have an idea.
Monday or Tuesday afternoons, 2:30-6:00pm
Choose from one of two learning options, based on topic and background in Jewish learning. Each option features two hours of preparation and a 75 minute shiur.
- On Mondays, R. Aviva Richman will be teaching a shiur on Mishnah and Gemara, with featured chapters from all six orders of the Mishnah. The shiur will emphasize the selected chapter of Mishnah and key parallels and sugyot that enrich our conceptual understanding of the material at hand.
- On Tuesdays, R. Ethan Tucker will be teaching a shiur on egalitarian tefillah, reviewing in depth the issues surrounding gender and prayer in halakhah.
Apply here. Applications are being accepted now. Admissions are rolling and there are limited spots.
