Rabbi Cohen teaches synagogue skills, such as chanting the Torah, Megillot, and prayers of the weekday, Shabbat, holiday services, and special life-cycle occasions. He has been teaching these skills to JTS rabbinical students and education students for over ten years. He also specializes in Hebrew grammar, which he teaches in both the Hebrew Language and Bible Departments, and in Masoretic studies. Rabbi Cohen will teach Basic Torah Reading at Yeshivat Hadar. He graduated Brandeis University with a B.A. in Biology, including honors research on a mouse model of leukemia, and completed an M.A. in Bible from Bernard Revel Graduate School of Jewish Studies. Steven has learned at Yeshivat Har Etzion, and more recently at Yeshivat Maale Gilboa, where he also taught occasionally and mentored post-high school students. He currently interns at United Orthodox Synagogues of Houston, and is a co-director of Meorot, a Modern Orthodox young adult discussion and lecture series. He has taught in many synagogues around the country. He is on the leadership team of MigdalOr, a new independent minyan in Washington Heights. Steven will teach Tanakh at Yeshivat Hadar. He is a former Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York and a former law clerk to the Supreme Court of Israel. Eric is a graduate of Yale University (B.A., Religious Studies) and Columbia Law School, and has studied at Yeshivat Hamivtar in Efrat, Israel. Eric has been active as a teacher in the adult education program at the Conservative Synagogue Adath Israel of Riverdale. Eric will teach Shabbat in the Ten Commandments at Yeshivat Hadar. She recently completed the Pardes Educators Program, simultaneously earning her MA in Jewish Education at Hebrew University, and has a BA from Brandeis University with a concentration in Intellectual History. Rachel also spent time studying at Midreshet Moriah in Jerusalem, and at NYU’s campus in the Czech Republic. Upon her graduation from Brandeis, Rachel participated in the Jewish Teacher Corps, a program that placed her in Phoenix, AZ to teach and mentor at the Jess Schwartz Community High School; before moving to Israel she also taught at a Solomon Schechter school in New York. She has also led beit midrash programs at Brandeis, worked as a teacher at Camp Ramah, and taught occasionally for Kehilat Hadar. A Wexner Graduate Fellow, Shai was Director of Education and Conservative Rabbinic Advisor at Harvard Hillel. There, he helped create the Netivot Fellowship, a program which provided Jewish undergraduates with an immersion in Jewish learning, personal growth, leadership education, and meaningful connection to Israel. A graduate of Harvard, he has taught for institutions such as the Drisha Institute, Hebrew College, Meah, UJA-CJP, and the Rabbinic Training Institute. Shai will lead the Mahshavah curriculum at Yeshivat Hadar. James holds a BA in Philosophy and Judaic Studies from Brown University and an M.St. in Modern Jewish Studies from Balliol College the University of Oxford. He studied at the Conservative Yeshivah, the Hartman Institute of Jewish Studies, and in the Advanced Learning Seminar at Pardes and received rabbinic ordination from Rabbi Daniel Landes in Jerusalem. He is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Chicago in Jewish Studies specializing in Jewish mysticism. He has taught in a variety of settings in America and Israel on Judaism and Jewish Mysticism. He hopes to integrate his study and practice and to help teach and live Judaism as a spiritual discipline. James will teach Mahshavah and an elective on spritual practices at Yeshivat Hadar. He was ordained at the Jewish Theological Seminary, where he also completed an MA in liturgy. A Wexner Graduate Fellow, Elie is a co-founder of Kehilat Hadar, an egalitarian community committed to spirited traditional prayer, study and social action. Elie is on the advisory board of STAR: Synagogue Transformation and Renewal and is a member of Synagogue 3000's working group on emergent sacred communities. He has taught for the Wexner Heritage Foundation and was a co-founder of LimmudNY. A graduate of Harvard, he is a former corporate fraud investigator and analyst at Morgan Stanley. She was a Lauder fellow in Frankfurt-am-Main, Germany, where she taught Judaic studies to female high-school and college students, and ran seminars and camps for Jews across Germany. Sara was a community educator at Genesis at Brandeis University, and this past summer, she served as an educator for the American delegation to the JDC/Lauder camp in Szarvas, Hungary. She served as a core faculty member at the Hadar Beit Midrash at the JCC in 2004-5. She is a graduate of Columbia University and has studied at Midreshet Lindenbaum and the Drisha Institute. Sara will lead the Bible and Exegesis curriculum at Yeshivat Hadar. In the course of her studies she spent time at Cape Town University South Africa and Dublin, Ireland. She received an MA in Jewish Philosophy from the Jewish Theological Seminary, where she is currently a PhD candidate working on a thesis that will combine Talmudic reasoning and Jewish ethics. She also is also enrolled in the JTS rabbinical school. Nina currently teaches as an adjunct lecturer for Rutgers University New Jersey in Jewish Studies, for JTS in Jewish Philosophy and for Munich University in general Jewish Studies and comparative religion. She developed the first intensive summer program in Jewish Studies for Munich University in which she taught Talmud and Rabbinics as well as Philosophy. Nina will teach Mahshavah at Yeshivat Hadar. An alumnus of the kollels of Ramah Wisconsin and Yeshivat Ma'ale Gilbo'a, Jason has worked as a counselor-educator for the Nesiya Institute each of the past three years, and has taught at both Kehilat Hadar Shabbat services and the Hadar Beit Midrash. He teaches Talmud and Halakhah in the Machon's summer Yeshiva, Yeshivat Hadar, and is also a faculty member at the Drisha Institute for Jewish Education, where he teaches Talmud and Halakhah in the Scholars Circle. Rabbi Tucker was ordained by the Chief Rabbinate of Israel after years of study at Yeshivat Ma'ale Gilboa and earned a PhD in Talmud and Rabbinics from the Jewish Theological Seminary. He is currently a Fellow with the Harold Grinspoon Foundation and is a co-founder of New York's Kehilat Hadar. Ethan will lead the Talmud curriculum at Yeshivat Hadar.
