Dvar Torah Workshop

This hands-on workshop will focus on strengthening public speaking skills while offering practical advice on how to prepare and deliver meaningful and challenging divrei Torah. Special emphasis will be placed on how to formulate powerful questions on the text and connect with the congregation. Participants will have opportunities to practice for each other and give feedback.

Sarah Gershman is a public speaking trainer based in Washington DC. Sarah combines 10 years of teaching experience in the Jewish community with a strong background in theater. Sarah works with a variety of nonprofit groups and businesses, including the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), the Red Cross, and the Washington DCJCC. Sarah has a Masters in Social Work from Columbia University and a Masters in Judaic Studies from the Jewish Theological Seminary.
